Marketing Consulting

Sarah Lambley FCIM is a full-stack marketing professional.  She's spent over 20 years working across all marketing and brand disciplines before starting her own consulting firm.

From brand strategy, to a leaky sales funnel or content marketing to social media advertising, Sarah can provide expert marketing consultancy.

"I love the variety when working as a marketing consultant.  I like to work closely with clients on everything from full brand strategy projects to writing engaging social media posts.  Having previously worked strategically, in a hands-on capacity, and with lots of experience using analytical tools, I can 'walk the walk' instead of just 'talking the talk'. Ultimately, the bottom line is the all important measure of success."

1.  Brand Strategy

Brand Strategy

What's Your Why?

People don't buy WHAT you do they buy WHY you do it.

And your WHY won't resonate with customers if it's simply about money.

Give them a reason to believe, and they'll give you their loyalty.

How people connect to your brand and what meaning they assign to it is due to its personality.

Just like a person, your company's brand has a unique personality.  How people connect with your brand has a huge impact on whether they want to do business with you.

Brand Awareness isn't enough - for successful marketing, you have to give potential customers an authentic reason to believe in your brand, otherwise your marketing efforts will be in vain.

2.  Sales Strategy

Sales Strategy

Be Customer Centric

Never have the lines been more blurred between marketing and sales.

Today's organisations need to be 'SMarketing' businesses, where disciplines work together to seamlessly drive growth.

Customers don't see the difference between channels such as phone calls, emails and social media.

The business that focuses on the customer browsing experience right through to the end of the journey and structures their team accordingly, will be the most successful.

Sometimes, the vast array of analytical tools that are available for sales and marketing teams can make it difficult to see the woods from the trees. And buzz phrases like 'marketing automation' can result in a technical approach which is devoid of emotion.

JSFR Consulting can offer analytical expertise to keep you focused on the most valuable direction and ensure you deliver a targeted customized experience for your target audience.

3. Communications Strategy

Communications Strategy

It's a brave new world

Forget everything you think you know about communicating with your target audience.

Your communication strategy needs to add value to your customers.

Making your prospects more informed buyers through content has never been more important.

It's no longer enough to 'sell, sell, sell' and creative vanity campaigns will not drive the growth you're looking for.

4.  Cultural Strategy

Cultural Strategy

Look in the Mirror

Do you have a clear vision, mission & values? Are your employees delivering your brand promise?

Your staff need to live your company and brand values every single day.  Consistency is key, without every single person in your organisation remaining on message, you run the risk of wasting your marketing budget on activity that isn't credible.  Get your house in order, and every campaign impact will be significantly greater.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of marketing services do you offer?

We work on projects large and small with flexible budgets.  Our areas of expertise include:

Research, Strategic Brand Planning, Business Planning, Customer Insight & Lifecycle Strategy, Data & Trends Analysis, Sales / E-Commerce & Marketing Integration, Communications Planning, Social & Content Marketing Strategy, Email Marketing Strategy, Agency Management, Media Buying, Copywriting, Creative, Graphic Design, Printing

Whether you need help creating a new marketing plan, reviewing your customer experience or you need support with social media marketing, we can help.

What size of marketing project will you take on?

We offer marketing services of all shapes and sizes.

Our first task is to provide a free of charge consultation to understand your marketing and brand objectives so that we can make recommendations.

This could mean you need anything from a few hours to a few days work, or maybe more.

We'll be really clear about how we can help, and the benefits of working with us, before you decide to move forward.

Do you provide marketing training?

Yes we do.

We can also do a skills assessment of your current team and advise how you can plug the gaps.

This is often a really efficient way to get the skills you need in-house without hiring additional staff members, re-structuring or paying expensive agency fees.

We can provide training on any aspect of the marketing mix.

Sarah can visit your premises and train several people at once to ensure absolute value for money, this is often significantly cheaper than sending staff to an external course.

Half Day Training courses start at £500+VAT.

Get in touch for more details.

Can you help me find a marketing agency?

Yes of course.

Sarah has extensive experience pitching and appointing agencies.

Whether you're looking for an on-going retainer relationship or a one-off project, she'd be delighted to help.

JSFR Consulting can also provide support with agency management, service level agreements and briefing.

I can't afford an agency and I'm not ready to appoint an in-house marketer but I do need a few hours support each week - can you help?

Yes.

Sarah has worked with lots of clients providing on-going support for a few hours each week until they're ready to take the next step towards a formal marketing structure.

Do you work with start up businesses with small budgets?

Absolutely!  Get in touch to find out how we can help.

Sarah has experience in lots of small owner managed businesses who often don't have established in-house teams but are not ready to appoint an agency partner due to budget constraints.

Do you offer research services such as focus groups?

Yes absolutely.

Sarah will work with you to determine what research is needed and the best methodology.

We have trusted partners who help us recruit respondents but we can also work with your current database or key clients to deliver insight.

I've heard research can be expensive, can we succeed without it?

The more you understand about your brand, your category and your market, the more successful you are likely to be.

Research can take many forms and there's usually something we can recommend that fits with your budget to help you drive your business forward.

Do you only work on strategy or can you provide 'hands on' help too?

We offer both!

Maybe you just need a little marketing support with some graphic design or social media posts or perhaps you have bigger challenges such as your overall brand strategy.

What is brand positioning?

Positioning is the act of designing a company's offering and image to occupy a distinctive place in the minds of the target market.

To be clear, it's not just a statement.

The brand positioning statement may well be the output, but there's a lot of work and thinking needed before you can get to that!

Read more about brand positioning.

What is a brand strategy and why is it important?

A CFO or Head of Finance wouldn't just make figures up as they go along, they use logic and a system.  The alternative would lead to disaster.

Brand Strategy is no different.

CMOs and Marketing Managers are in charge of a significant financial asset - your brand - therefore a system is needed.

Brand Strategy acts as your marketing 'sat nav'.

Developed correctly, it will deliver consistent and enduring icon brand status.

What is a brand identity and do I need one?

How people connect to your brand and what meaning they assign to it is due to its personality.

Just like a person, your company's brand has a unique personality or identity.

How people connect with your brand has a huge impact on whether they want to do business with you.

This extends way beyond your logo and colour scheme.

Sarah uses brand archetype theory to provide you with a clarity and direction so that the whole team understands your brand identity and how to nurture, grow and protect it.

What are Brand Archetypes?

Brand Archetypes are a system used by Brand Experts to manage meaning.

Often under used, especially in small businesses, they provide a critical tool to build brand value which can lead to financial reward.

Archetypes have been described as 'the heartbeat of a brand' because they convey a meaning that brings the product or service to life for the customer.

Some psychologists believe brand archetypes are the 'software' of the psyche providing customers with what they crave.

Why is organisational culture important in the context of brand planning?

The most successful companies have core values and a core purpose that they relentlessly enforce and pursue.

These values must align with your brand if your customers are to believe you are authentic and can be trusted.

Brand building is virtually impossible if your organisational culture is a mismatch for your brand values.

What locations do you offer your services in?

Sarah has worked with brands who have offices all over the world.

JSFR Consulting is based in North Yorkshire, but we regularly travel to see clients and we're always happy to work with any businesses who have a UK base.
